Eating with Chopsticks!

Forget the fork and forget the spoon....we are using chopsticks!!! Paul has been mastering the art of homemade Chicken Chow Mein and since he has to be using chopsticks whenever eating Asian food, Samantha now has to be using chopsticks whenever Daddy gets to. At first I thought.....MESS....but even though she does make a little mess she eats really well with them!!

Splash Pad

Summer is here and it is HOT so I find myself trying to find some different and fun ways to keep Samantha cool and keep her busy at the same time!! Here in Chino Hills we have a splash pad in the middle of the little outdoor mall and all the kids love it. This is the first time we went so at first Samantha was really hesitant so I told her to just go touch the water.....so she did.....and then she was sticking her head in it and jumping over the water and running through the water and then taking laps around the entire splash pad!!! She had such a good time and I think we will go back, although next time I might be joining her!!!

Of course we couldn't end the day without ice cream and since Samantha had been asking for a Frosty I took her to Wendy's and we shared one!!!

...then she took a very long nap.........

Madame Tussauds Wax Factory

This past weekend my mom and I took a trip to Las Vegas for Chrissy's 21st Birthday and we did a lot of walking while we were there!! One of the days we decided to go check out the Venetian and ended up walking by the entrance to Madame Tussauds Wax Factory but didn't want to pay to go inside so we just stood and looked and Whoopi Goldberg and Harrison Ford who they had standing outside....I have to say that I really thought that Harrison Ford was a real person until someone bumped into the wax figure and it started shaking from side to side....FREAKY!!! So the girl working there ended up getting us in for half-price and we had a blast!!! I think mom even got a picture with all of her Hollywood Hotties....Daniel Craig, Nicholas Cage and of course Tim McGraw. She got to touch Shaq's armpit because that was as high as she could reach and she got to take a picture with Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy!!! I got to marry George Clooney, take a picture with Justin Timberlake, sing with the Rat Pack, throw my hands up with Chuck Liddell and get an autograph from Elvis. The most exciting part for me was the figures of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin!!!! (for those of you who don't know...the first men on the moon) They are two of the most amazing people in my book and what I wouldn't give to meet them in person someday....








































...we had so much fun and the wax figures of these people look so real it is ridiculous!!! I highly recommend it!!

Summer Movie Fun!!

This summer I got Samantha and I tickets for the Summer Movie Fun program at the local movie theater. We get to go every Monday and see a different kids movie. Samantha really enjoys getting to go and get popcorn and watch the movies!! She usually stays awake during the whole thing but I can tell when she isn't into the movie because when all the popcorn in gone she will crawl up into my lap and fall asleep. This week Daddy got to go with us and that made it even more special!!

The 4th of July!!!

We had an awesome 4th of July this year with the family!! Paul cooked yummy ribs and corn on the cob on the grill for dinner. Gaga even got Samantha a wiggly sprinkler for her to get wet with in the back yard but when that idea didn't work because Samantha wouldn't go near it Uncle Dodo and Auntie Tarah to the rescue with a Slip n Slide!!! We all had so much fun and I must add that it did finally rip but most of us were done anyway so it didn't matter. Samantha even found out that even though she didn't like getting sprayed by the hose she could certainly spray others with it!!!

Of course the 4th of July wouldn't be complete without homemade popsicles!!!

Minnie Mouse

We took our first trip to Disneyland with Auntie Jessica since her accident and has such a good time!! Samantha and I spent the night at the Beeghly's house the night before so I could drive everyone and we had an old-fashioned sleep over with drinks and snacks and make-overs. (I did not post those pictures for fear of being disowned) Auntie Stephanie and Cousin Megan came too. Samantha finally got her picture taken with MINNIE MOUSE and Auntie even bought her a hat with ears for her which she loves!! We had such a fun day and it got even better when the Coburns, McCarrys and Gaga met us later in the day...We love DISNEYLAND!!!
