Characters, Friends and World of Color!!!

Yay for the first Disneyland trip after a month and a half of not being able to go and we got to spend it with some awesome friends!!! Samantha and I started our day by visiting with some of the characters.....

...then when our friends arrived we changed into striped t-shirts and we became the striped crew!!! Since we hadn't seen the Morgans or Jeffers since Samantha was a baby she found some 'new' friends and especially loved Hayden....although he didn't really like the fact that she wanted to be near him and hold his hand the whole time!!

Then at the end of our day we got to see World of Color and it was AMAZING!!!! Samantha was getting sleepy before the show started but I really wanted her to see it so I tried to keep her awake and she loved it too!!! It was really cool because she could even recognize some of the movies that they took scenes from for the show and of course I was excited because they added parts of my favorite movie: Beauty and the Beast!!!

MMmmmm.......POP!!!!

Samantha loves POP (this is what she calls soda) and daddy has a big jug that he fills with his favorite pop....Fresca.....everyday to take to work with him. Usually when he comes home there is just a tiny bit left and Samantha has figured out that she can get it out if she tilts it up really high. After she gets a drink of pop she always puts down her cup and says MMmmmm.....POP!!! Since she doesn't get pop all that often it is a real treat for her.

You've Got a Friend in Me....

Samantha's new favorite movies are Toy Story and Toy Story 2....not that we don't watch all the other Disney movies too but if I let her pick it is ALWAYS one of these two!! I am starting to wonder if you can actually wear out a DVD. She loves Woody and Buzz and yesterday she found the little Jessie figure that Gaga bought her a while back and was so excited!!! We have to sing and dance to all the songs and look for Woody's hat when he loses it in the movie!!
We can't wait for Toy Story 3 to come out on DVD soon!!

Off to Santa Maria...

My cousin Leah moved to Santa Maria for a great job opportunity after graduating and even though she gets to come home fairly often we thought we would take a GIRLS ROAD TRIP and visit her one weekend. Samantha was just excited to go because we got to take Gaga's car which has the DVD player in it...so it was Mickey Mouse the whole way there and back but that is okay because it kept her busy. On the way up we couldn't resist a stop in.....SOLVANG!!! I just love this little town and I especially love that there is a bakery filled with yummy German treats on practically every corner and we did get some to take to Leah's place to share for breakfast the next morning. We got lunch and did some shopping (okay, well mostly looking) and walked a lot and then had ice cream!!! Then it was time to get back in the car to finish our trip.....

...we finally got to Santa Maria and had to wait a few for Leah to get off work. We all got to meet Lucy and Samantha didn't want to leave her but we got her to leave to go to dinner. We watched a movie before we all fell asleep and then the next morning after a very good breakfast (thank you Leah) we took Samantha to play miniature golf for the first time!! At first she let us help her and then she had to do it all by herself and I must say she did a very good job. After golfing it was time for us to pack up and make the trip home...

...hopefully next time we can stay a little longer!!!

Cousin Camryn Comes to Visit!!

Cousin Camryn got to come down and stay with us for a whole week this summer and we kept her busy going swimming, bowling, more swimming, then a visit from Aunt Leah and even a trip to the Santa Ana Zoo!!! The Solis family joined us the day we went to the Zoo and the kids had so much fun looking at animals, playing on the play ground and climbing on an old jeep!!!

A Day at the Beach!!

On one of the days that Camryn was down visiting we decided we would take her to the beach!! So we headed out to Seal Beach and the Coburn family even came with us! We had one fun filled day....many of us tried to make sand castles but Samantha destroyed every single one of them before we got too far, some of the kids went swimming and boogie boarding in the cold water, Chris taught Samantha how to chase the birds and of course I got a little bit sun burnt. It was such a fun and relaxing day with everyone there and we couldn't end an awesome day without an AWESOME dinner at Yucatan's Mexican Grill. Camryn had not gotten to eat there since she moved up north so she was so excited and the food is just pure Yummy so the rest of us were excited too!!!
